About the Institute

The Caribbean Institute of Nuclear and Atomic Sciences and Technology (ICASTNA) of Queensland University (UQ) is an institution of Higher Education and Training institution, administered by Queensland University (UQ) at Atomic Energy and alternative energies that can help create nuclear and atomic research. The Caribbean Institute of Nuclear and Atomic Sciences and Technology (ICASTNA) of UQ is under the supervision of the Nuclear and Atomic Energy Unit (UNA) at Queensland University (UQ).

Since 2010, after the passage of the earthquake of January 12, 2010, the Nuclear and Atomic Energy Unit (UNA) of Queensland University (UQ) has found it useful to set up the Caribbean Institute of Nuclear and Atomic Science and Technology (ICASTNA) of Queensland University (UQ) to deliver high specificity courses and training at all levels of qualification, from operator to engineer and Haitian researcher and other foreign researchers on science and technology in the fields of nuclear energy, industrial and medical applications. Accompanying ICASTNA's action in the development of low-carbon energies, ICASTNA also offers training in this area of responsible energy.

The main goal of the Caribbean Institute of Nuclear and Atomic Sciences and Technology (ICASTNA) at Queensland University (UQ) is to participate in the development of individual skills to develop the competitiveness and performance of young Haitians and businesses in these sectors activities.

To develop its various activities, the Caribbean Institute of Nuclear and Atomic Sciences and Technology (ICASTNA) of Queensland University (UQ) will work with universities and research centers in Russia, China, Brazil and China, other international partners working in related disciplines. The Caribbean Institute of Nuclear and Atomic Sciences and Technology (ICASTNA) at Queensland University (UQ) is committed to adapting its service offering to the evolving needs of Haiti, its clients and partners. The Caribbean Institute of Nuclear and Atomic Sciences and Technology (ICASTNA) thus implements professional approaches with institutional, academic and industrial actors in Haiti, the Caribbean and internationally.
