Launch of a Master's and Doctoral Program in Sustainable and Rural Development.

The Caribbean School of Science and Research on Sustainable and Rural Development (ECSREDD) at Queensland University (UQ) Haiti was launched on March 8, 2018 to begin training students in a Master’s Program in Sustainable and Rural Development, Master's degree in Science and Research. In accordance with the objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the many conditions that must be met to enable its implementation.


  • Mobilize sustainable development universities to gather, deliberate and implement common initiatives, including online courses, research projects and specialists
  • Publications, showing how science and sustainability research can contribute to achieving the goals
  • contribute to the training of the next generation of sustainable development scientists through:
    1. Joint Master's and Doctorate courses and programs on the science of sustainability


The Caribbean School of Science and Research on Sustainable and Rural Development (ECSREDD) at Queensland University (UQ) also aims to link Caribbean researchers with sustainable development and rural development to their counterparts in other parts of the world, such as that: North-South and South-South cooperation in sustainable development and rural development in Haiti and the Caribbean regions. The Caribbean School of Science and Research on Sustainable and Rural Development (ECSREDD) at Queensland University (UQ) strengthens interdisciplinary research on sustainability issues, and also paves the way for postdoctoral studies for students who have already a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
